an unserem letzten Tag in Medellin waren wir in Piedras Blancas, was sich im Parque Arvi befindet. Da wir nicht allzu viel Zeit hatten sind wir nur zum Park gelaufen und haben uns das Mariposario (Schmetterlingshaus) angeschaut, und danach ging's wieder zurück in die Stadt. Nachmittags waren wir dann im Parque Explora, einem wunderbaren Mitmachmuseum./

on the last day in Medellin we went to the Piedras Blancas which is located in Parque Arvi. As we didn't have too much time, we walked to the park and visited the Mariposario (butterfly garden), after which we returned to the city. In the afternoon we visited Parque Explora, a great hands-on experience museum.

Letzten Donnerstag ging es dann wieder mit dem Bus weiter, nach San Gil. Da uns die Busfahrt wieder ganz schön geschlaucht hat haben wir es am ersten Tag erstmal ruhig genommen. Nach einer Massage am Morgen und einem ersten Besuch auf dem wundervollen Markt sind wir nachmittags zum Pozo Azul (einem Fluß in dem man baden kann) gefahren. Dort haben wir uns erfrischt bevor es dann wieder zurück ins Hostel ging um was leckeres zu zaubern, denn wir hatten hier endlich mal einen Backofen, und das mussten wir ausnutzen./
Then last Thursday we travelled further by bus again, this time to the town of San Gil. As the long bus ride took its toll again, we decided not to undertake too much activities for the first day. After a massage and doing groceries at a nice market in the morning, we went to Pozo Azul in the afternoon (a river which is accessible for swimming). After the refreshing dip we went back to the hostel in order to cook something delicious, since we finally had an oven available and we wouldn't let this chance go by.

Der nächste Tag war ein neues Highlight! Wir waren Paragliden im Parque Nacional del Chicamocha. Das ist ein Canyon, der ein bißchen wie der Grand Canyon aussieht. Also die perfekte Kulisse für einen Flug.
Mächtig aufgeregt ging es dann in die Luft. Das war ein tolles Erlebnis sich die Ausblicke aus der Vogelperspektive anschauen zu können. Mein Pilot meinte irgendwann, dass die Bedingungen nicht gut genug sind um auf dem Startplatz auch wieder zu landen. Außerdem wären wir statt 30 Minuten auch schon eine Stunde in der Luft. Deswegen sind wir (als einzige) dann auf einem anderen Platz gelandet. Kimi hat sich schon gewundert wo ich bleibe, da er nach mir losgeflogen ist und vor mir wieder zurück war ;)
Abends waren wir gemeinsam mit Juho, einem anderen Finnen, in der Hosteleigenen Sauna ;) /
The next day would be a highlight for us! We went paragliding in the Parque Nacional del Chicamocha. It is a canyon that looks a bit like the Grand Canyon. So a perfect setting for a flight.
We both took off with a lot of excitement. Getting to see the landscape from high up was something very special. Anja's pilot said at one point that the conditions would not allow them to land back at the starting point. And instead of the planned 30 minutes they eventually flew for an hour. Anja and her pilot were the only ones to land somewhere else than the rest. I ended up wondering for quite a while where she might be, since my turn to fly came much later than hers and we were back a long time before Anja and her pilot were.
In the evening we were offered a rare opportunity to visit the sauna at the hostel, together with another Finn, Juho, who we met here. :)

Sonntag haben wir zum Entspannen genutzt. Morgens hatten wir eine Yoga Stunde und nachmittags waren wir einfach nur faul ;)
Gestern haben wir uns Barichara, ein hübsches kleines Dorf nicht weit weg von San Gil, angeschaut. Leider ist unter der Woche nicht wirklich viel los, da die meisten Geschäfte und Restaurants auch erst am Nachmittag öffnen. Aber gefallen hat es uns trotzdem. /
We used Sunday just for relaxing. In the morning we had a yoga lesson and the afternoon we just lazy ;)
Yesterday we visited Barichara, a cute little town not far away from San Gil. Unfortunately there wasn't much going on, and the most of the little shops and restaurants were closed until the later afternoon. But we liked the town nevertheless.
