Hallo ihr Lieben,

es ist wieder Zeit für ein neues Update:

Nach einer langen Fahrt durch's Nichts sind wir letzten Donnerstag im Manzano Mountains State Park in New Mexiko angekommen. Ein wirklich wunderschöner Park, der auch mal angenehme Temperaturen zu bieten hatte. Das mussten wir natürlich gleich ausnutzen und haben eine kleine Wanderung gemacht. Dort gibt es viele Nadelbäume, tolle Vögel - Diademhäher und Kolibris!! - und sogar Bären, die wir aber zum Glück nicht gesehen haben./

it is time for another update:

After a long drive through nothing but semidesert, we arrived last Thursday in the Manzano Mountains State Park in New Mexico, a really beautiful park with comfortable temperatures for a change. We had to take advantage of it, and so we did a small hike in the forest. There were a lot of conifers, great-looking birds - Steller's jays and hummingbirds! - and it was even bear country, though luckily we didn't see those.

Am Freitag sind wir durch Albuquerque, der Hauptstadt von New Mexiko, zum Bluewater Lake State Park gefahren.

Wir waren in der der "Altstadt" von Albuquerque, die ganz hübsch war. Überhaupt hat uns die Fahrt durch New Mexico riesig gefallen, da wir überhaupt keine Vorstellung von dem Bundesstaat hatten./

 On Friday we drove through Albuquerque, the capital of New Mexico, and later to the Bluewater Lake State Park. We took a walk in the "old city" of Albuquerque, which was rather pretty. We were generally very pleased by New Mexico, since we really didn't have any idea about the state.

Am nächsten Tag sind wir zum ersten Highlight in Arizona, dem Petrified Forest National Park, gefahren. Das ist ein riesiger National Park mit farbige Hügeln und versteinertem Holz. Wir waren beide total positiv überrascht wie atemberaubend schön es dort war. Deshalb sind wir auch am nächsten Morgen gleich nochmal hingefahren um uns noch den Rest ganz genau anzuschauen./

The next day, we drove to the first highlight of our stay in Arizona, the Petrified Forest National Park, which is a huge area with colorful hills and petrified wood. We were both really impressed by the views and positively surprised how beatiful it was. For that reason, we drove back the next day to see everything in more detail.
