Hallo ihr Lieben,

seit Mittwoch letzte Woche sind wir in Montañita, einem kleinem Ort an der Küste Ecuadors. Und wir fühlen uns einfach nur so wohl, dass wir noch 3 Nächte länger bleiben als eigentlich geplant. Unsere Unterkunft, ein kleines Bed and Breakfast, liegt ein bißchen außerhalb der Stadt (Gott sei Dank - denn in der Stadt würden wir wahrscheinlich kein Auge zu tun können), aber direkt am Strand. Es ist wie im Paradies. Nein, es IST das Paradies!!!
Wir haben uns für 3 Tage Surfbretter ausgeliehen. Und ich war tatsächlich auch jeden Tag auf dem Brett. Kimi hat leider ne kleine Erkältung deswegen hat er heute ausgesetzt. Es ist unglaublich, wie schwer es doch ist, wieder auf's Brett zu kommen, wenn man so lang nichts mehr gemacht hat. Aber wenn's dann mal klappt will man einfach nicht aufhören und das Gefühl unbedingt nochmal bekommen.
Da wir außer surfen, essen, lesen und schlafen nichts weiter gemacht haben ist die Bilderauswahl auch nur beschränkt ;) Aber dafür genießen wir die Zeit hier umso mehr./

Hey everyone,

since Wednesday last week we are in Montañita, a small town on the coast of Ecuador. And we felt ourselves at home, so we decided to extend 3 more nights. Our accomodation, a small Bed and Breakfast, lies a bit outside of the city (thankfully, since in town you wouldn't probably be able to sleep one second) but right by the beach. It's like in the paradise - NO, it is the paradise!
We rented surfboards for 3 days, and Anja really was surfing every day. I am a bit sick so no waves for me today.
It's quite unbelievable how hard it is to get back on the board after such a long time of not practicing it. But then when it finally works out, you just don't want to stop and you really want to get that feeling again.
As there is not much else to do than to surf, eat, read, and sleep, the photo selection is a bit limited ;)
But we enjoy our time here that much more.

Am Strand wird so ziemlich alles verkauft. (Uns wurden noch nie so viele Drogen angeboten...)/ You can nearly buy everything on the beach. (We were never offered so many drugs before...)

nachdem wir Großstadtluft in Quito geschnuppert haben sind wir am Dienstag letzte Woche mit dem Bus nach Baños gefahren. Der Ort ist bekannt für Outdoorabenteuer wie Rafting, Mountainbiking oder Bungee Jumping. Nur als wir ankamen konnten wir uns nicht ganz vorstellen wie man bei so eisigen Temperaturen (um die 15°C) draußen sein möchte... ;)
Außerdem hat es auch immer wieder geregnet deswegen waren unsere Möglichkeiten ein bißchen beschränkt.

Hi everyone,

after sniffing the metropolitan air in Quito we travelled to the town of Baños last week on Tuesday. The location is well known for outdoor adventures such as rafting, mountain biking, or bungee jumping. But for us, the first thing we noticed after arrival, was the freezing cold air (about 15°C), and we could just wonder who'd like to stay outdoors at these temperatures... ;)
Also it was raining pretty much all the time, which reduced our possibilites a bit.

Nach 4 Tagen ging es dann von Baños nach Guayaquil, einer Großstadt im Süden Ecuadors. Wir hatten uns beide die Stadt ein bißchen anders (schöner?) vorgestellt. Am Montag waren wir im bekannten Stadtteil Las Peñas, der wirklich sehr schön ist, aber tagsüber war dort leider so gut wie nichts los...
Außerdem sind wir mit einem Touristenbus durch die Stadt gefahren - nur wirklich schöne Dinge zu sehen gibt es dabei leider nicht.
Der Plan für gestern war eigentlich eine Radtour auf die Isla Santay. Aber es war einfach so wahnsinnig heiß und feucht, dass wir nicht mal groß Lust zum Spazieren gehen hatten. Deswegen wurde es dann eine kleine Tour zum Parque Seminario, der bekannt für seine Leguane ist./

After 4 days in Baños, we travelled south to the city of Guayaquil. We both had imagined the city to be a bit different (maybe nicer?). On Monday we visited the neighborhood of Las Peñas, which indeed was really beautiful, but during the day there really wasn't much going on...
We also took the tourist bus through the city, but didn't get to see too many beautiful things here either.
Originally we had planned for yesterday to ride bicycles to the island of Isla Santay. But the ridiculously hot and humid weather made us lazy and we didn't really feel to go outside much. So we decided to at least go to the Parque Seminaria, a park known for its iguanas.
