am letzten Tag in Boquete waren wir auf dem Quetzal Trail wandern. Laut Internet sollte das einer der schönsten Wanderwege Panamas sein, und mit viel Glück könne man auch einen Quetzal beobachten.
Naja, der Weg war nicht wirklich die Mühe wert... Anfangs ging es durch sehr viel Schlamm stetig bergauf, aber plötzlich mussten wir Stufen steigen die selbst den fittesten Sportler aus der Puste gebracht hätten.
Nach 3,5 Stunden hat es uns dann gereicht, da wir auch wieder rechtzeitig vor Einbruch der Dunkelheit zurück sein wollten. Außer Eichhörnchen, Echsen und Affen konnten wir leider keinen Quetzal sehen./
on our last day in Boquete we did a hike on the Quetzal Trail. We read on the internet that it should be one of the most beautiful trails in Panama. And with some luck you might see a quetzal.
Well, the trail wasn't really worth the effort... In the beginning we walked slowly through a lot of mud uphill. But suddenly we had to climb stairs which would make even the fittest athletes catch their breath.
After 3,5 hours we had enough, as we wanted to get back before dark. Outside of squirrels, lizards and monkeys we did not see a quetzal.

Am Samstag sind wir dann mit dem Bus weiter nach Panama City gefahren. Und wir waren beide überrascht was für eine schöne und vielfältige Stadt es ist. Unser Hostel liegt im Stadtteil Casco Viejo, was zum UNESCO Weltkulturerbe gehört. Ein bißchen sieht es hier aus wie in Spanien, was sich aber dadurch erklärt, dass die Spanier die Stadt gegründet haben.
Wir haben uns die Ruinen von Panama Viejo angeschaut (das war die ursprüngliche Stadt von Panama), waren am beeindruckenden Panama Kanal und sind mit dem Rad auf dem Amador Causeway gefahren (Panama City ist definitiv keine Stadt für Radfahrer!)./
On Saturday we took the bus to Panama City. We both were astonished how beautiful and diverse the city is. Our hostel is located in Casco Viejo, which belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage. It looks a bit like in Spain, which is no wonder, since it was founded by the Spanish.
We visited the ruins of Panama Viejo (the original city of Panama), the Panama Canal and took a bike ride on the Amador Causeway (Panama City is definitely not a city for bikers!).

Jetzt geht's mit dem Bus nach Portobelo, wo wir heute noch unseren Kapitän treffen ;) Denn morgen gehts auf hohe See Richtung San Blas Islands, wo wir auch Silvester verbringen. Im neuen Jahr sind wir dann in Cartagena, Kolumbien./

Now we are off to Portobelo, where we meet our captain today ;) Because tomorrow we set sail towards the San Blas Islands, where we also spend New Year's. So next year we will be in Cartagena, Colombia.
